sold out

Learn the art of loose and lyrical painting to design your own unique lampshad, tray or your own small piece of furniture on this popular course.

We start by exploring pattern and adapting either your own inspiration piece or designing from scratch before committing paint to your shade or tray. Armed with plenty of inspiration, Jane will guide you through the technique of loose painting and free flow design, the technique so beloved of the Bloomsbury Group. As with all our decorative painting courses, we work with Colourman paints, which give a wonderful chalky matt finish.

The 30cms lampshade has fittings for either an overhead light or lamp stand. Trays measure approximately 38cms by 24 cms. Alternatively bring your own small piece of furniture, primed and ready to add a beautiful decorative layer.

This day cost £150 including either your lampshade or tray, all other materials, a light lunch and refreshments.

You will go home with two beautiful things to decorate your home.No previous experience required.

For a very special experience, enjoy a night or three at The Bell in Ticehurst. If you would like to bring a partner who doesn’t want to do a course, there are plenty of great things to do locally – a perfect staycation to explore the delights of the Kent/Sussex countryside or our favourite arty places locally.
