DELVING DEEPER - THE ART OF ABSTRACTION – 30th September, 21st October and 11th November 2024
Part of our occasional series of three mornings delving deeper in to the art of abstract painting with Dani. In these 3 hour sessions we have the luxury to time to develop our techniques and understanding.
Week one: Colour Theory
For this first session we will be taking a dive into colour, the general theory, how to understand and get the best from colour and how great painters use it in their work.
Week two: Abstract Theories and Practise 1
We will begin by exploring the various movements of abstract painting that have developed since its inception in the early 20th Century. Looking at the work of a master of each of the the genres, we will make a painting inspired by their methods and theories to complete our morning together.
Week three: Abstract Theories and Practise 2
In this final session we begin with an audio experience to use as inspiration for an expressionist piece of work. Followed by a further exploration into Abstract movements, where the came from, the artists involved and their associates, we will then use everything we have learnt to make a final piece of work.
To get the most from this series, you may need to finish your work at home and and bring it along to each consecutive class. Dani will give you guidance and confidence to work at home and is always at the end of the phone or email for advice.
The series of three sessions start at 10am through to 1pm and will cost £190 to include refreshments. We will supply you with a list of materials ahead of time - a worthwhile investment and will encourage you to keep at it!
This course benefits beginners and more experienced artist wishes to hone their skills.
